Three thousand school children visit us every year. In the museum we tell the story of the great storms that destroyed the busy harbour, and explain the coastal processes that wiped out a thriving town. The dramatic effect of the sea on the land and the lives of people is brought into unique focus here at Dunwich. This is the one-stop shop for coastal processes and their role in history, adaptable for all year groups.
A cross curricula Pick and Mix of educational resources for primary schools, can be found on our Downloads page, as well as an excellent program of study for KS3 kindly donated by teachers from Holbrook Academy. Our new Coastal Slideshow contains aerial photos and revealing historic pictures and maps.
Visits can be booked by arrangement with the manager, who will be only too pleased to lay on a special talk and tour for your class – tailored to your year group and course needs. A small fee is charged for this service.
